Alyeska Ski Resort, Alaska

Alyeska Ski Resort offers world class skiing from a base near sea level to an elevation of almost 3000 feet and the lowest base elevation (250 feet) for any major ski resort in the US. There is plenty of snow, fun and adventure for everyone at Alyeska; it was rated in the top 25 ski resorts of North America by Ski Magazine.

This Alyska features 1,000 acres of terrain, ranging from gentle ski runs for beginners to a vast selection of double black diamond runs to challenge the experts. Night skiing, with more than 2,000 vertical feet of lighted trails, extends the ski day to 9:30 p.m. two nights per week.

Alyeska Resort also offers spectacular views of the northern lights. Enclosed on three sides by the Chugach Mountains, the village of Girdwood is protected from the bright lights of Anchorage, offering crystal clear viewing opportunities.

Alyeska resort features a variety of restaurants, from romantic and intimate settings, to live dance music in a bar. There is a good range of menus too, many of which include fresh alaskan game. Other than the scenery and dogsledding, there is not much to do for the non skier.
