Filzmoos ski resort is set within a pretty little austrian village, in the shadows of the twin towers of the Bischofsmütze mountain. This is a friendly unspoilt region, ideal for the beginner, with gentle slopes. Filzmoos ski resort has a big advantage over many other austrian ski resorts - it's gondola lift base station is near the centre of the village and a short walk from most of the accommodation, rather than a long walk or a ski bus ride from the village to the lifts as it is in many austrian resorts.
The small local ski area at Filzmoos ski resort (just 12 kms) is best suited to beginners and intermediates, making it perfect for families. However, if you do have more advanced skiers in your party, the village also participates in one of the largest lift pass areas in Austria, the Skiverbund Amade pass.
The Skiverbund Amade pass includes nearly a hundred times as much skiing in neighbouring villages (some of which are lift-linked to one another although not to Filzmoos). In total there are nearly 1000km (700 miles) of trails on the pass, served by more than 250 lifts.
